Above all a human adventure, the Trocad\u00e9ro Jazztet<\/strong> was formed in the 2000s when Emmanuel Pi Djob<\/strong>, Esa\u00efe Cid<\/strong> and Beno\u00eet Torr\u00e8s<\/strong> met up with the Midnite Blue<\/strong> collective.<\/p>\n

As the result of long-term work, ten internationally renowned musicians from the jazz and gospel scene come together to perform 100% original compositions by Esa\u00efe Cid.<\/p>\n

Esa\u00efe Cid returns to the roots of genres with common origins, offering an eminently contemporary jazz framework for Afro-American spiritual songs. A music blending be bop and West Coast sounds. Timeless lyrics with historical resonance, sung by the leader of the gospel revival in Europe, Emmanuel Pi Djob, whose warm and powerful voice brings to mind James Cleveland, Ray Charles…<\/p>\n

Aventure humaine avant tout, le Trocad\u00e9ro Jazztet est issu de la rencontre, dans les ann\u00e9es 2000, d'Emmanuel Pi Djob, d'Esa\u00efe Cid et de Beno\u00eet Torr\u00e8s, du collectif Midnite Blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fruit d\u2019un travail au long cours, il rassemble dix musiciens de carrure internationale issus de la sc\u00e8ne jazz et gospel, autour de compositions 100 % originales d\u2019Esa\u00efe Cid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esa\u00efe Cid op\u00e8re un retour aux sources de genres aux racines communes, et offre un canevas jazz \u00e9minemment actuel aux chants spirituels afro-am\u00e9ricains. Une musique o\u00f9 les sonorit\u00e9s be bop et West Coast s'envolent. Des paroles charg\u00e9es d\u2019histoire et intemporelles, chant\u00e9es par le chef de file du renouveau du gospel en Europe, Emmanuel Pi Djob, dont la voix chaude et puissante rappelle celles de James Cleveland, Ray Charles...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esa\u00efe Cid r\u00e9ussit le tour de force de revenir au fondement m\u00eame du jazz, con\u00e7u \u00e0 l\u2019origine comme une musique profond\u00e9ment spirituelle par des artistes comme Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington ou Mary Lou Williams qui n\u2019h\u00e9sitaient pas \u00e0 multiplier les allers et retours entre jazz et musique sacr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au travers d\u2019interpr\u00e9tations exigeantes et lumineuses, les musiciens du Trocad\u00e9ro Jazztet prennent plaisir \u00e0 transmettre une palette d\u2019\u00e9motions universelles allant de la joie \u00e0 la souffrance, en passant par la foi. Leur musique parle \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2me et touche \u00e0 ce qu\u2019il y a de plus profond en chacun et chacune d\u2019entre nous, tout en faisant swinguer les corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
