Chants des Racines
Emmanuel Pi Djob & Augustin Dikongué
Chants Des Racines (Songs of Roots) is the result of 2 Cameroonian exiles trying to rediscover the musical foundations that have shaped them and defined their struggles. A journey through the musical production of continental and diasporic Africa, from the 18th century to the present day.
Augustin DIKONGUE
bass voice (Basse noble bassa’a)
With a background in opera singing, which he performs in various orchestral choirs and opera houses, Augustin Dikongué has remained attached to his Bassa’a roots. His vocal signature expresses this as much as the songs written especially for him in this southern Cameroonian language.
His performances are always intense, skin-deep and soulful, with an uncommon sensitivity.
